Concert:

 

On the concert platform, in oratorio (specialising in Mozart, Haydn, Handel and Rossini) I have sung with most of the country's leading orchestras and societies as well as enjoying in particular works such as Canteloube's Songs of the Auvergne, Ravel's Scheherazade, Mozart's Concert Arias, Richard Strauss songs (orchestral) and solo Bach Cantatas.

 

Broadcasting:

 

My broadcasting career began in Wales where I recorded recitals and chamber concerts, frequently singing with the BBC Welsh Orchestra. Radio 3 studio broadcasts, along with Keith Swallow who often accompanied me, included French song, English Song, Russian Romances and first performances of new music. I often enjoyed taking part in Friday Night is Music Night as guest soloist.
 

Chamber Music:

 

Initially, chamber group Voyages was set up to explore music influenced by gypsies, and ultimately took up other themes influenced by place and ethnic music. A commisioned work Romance de la pena negra based on the setting of a Lorca ballad by Elis Pehkonen, a composer whose music I have broadcast and recorded, was one of the highlights of this group's repertoire.
